HC Deb 12 January 1987 vol 108 c3W
Mrs. Beckett

asked the Prime Minister how many letters she has received (a) in support of and (b) against the Government's stand on sanctions against South Africa; and of each of these, how many are from individuals and how many on behalf of organisations.

The Prime Minister

Since 1 May 1986 I have received about 2,800 letters opposing, and about 5,900 supporting, the Government's stand on sanctions against South Africa. No further breakdown of these figures is available.
