HL Deb 12 January 1987 vol 483 cc472-3WA
Lord Napier and Ettrick

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they now expect to receive the report of the Commissioner for Wrecks into the loss of the "Marques", and what is the reason for the delay.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

The Wreck Commissioner and the Assessors have a considerable amount of evidence to study. Further-more, it is understood that since the hearings were adjourned, some additional material has been submitted which has caused the Wreck Commissioner to call a meeting of the parties for direction. The inquiry is, of course, in his hands and it is not possible to predict when the report will become available.
