HC Deb 12 January 1987 vol 108 c70W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he has given to the report entitled "Homeless Young People in Britain: The Contribution of the Private Sector", a copy of which has been sent to him by Duncan Guthrie, the director of the disabilities study unit; if there is any action he will be taking; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mellor

We have seen a copy of this report and noted that most of its recommendations which are addressed to the Government are the concern of other Departments. Nevertheless, so far as we have opportunity, we shall continue to encourage voluntary organisations generally to work in partnership with the statutory sector, to be responsive to what may be the special needs of ethnic minorities, to develop effective equal opportunity policies and to improve the co-ordination of the services which they provide.
