§ Mr. ChannonMy Department has received representations about the provision of Government support for the286W airbus A330/A340 project from a number of hon. Members, from trade union representatives and from others with an interest in these projects, including Airbus Industrie and British Aerospace.
§ 38. Mr. Wallaceasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he intends to make a statement on launch aid for the A340 Airbus.
§ Mr. PattieHer Majesty's Government are aiming to reach a decision on British Aerospace's application for launch aid in respect of its participation in the airbus A330 and A340 programme as soon as circumstances allow, in parallel with the decision-making process of the French and German Governments and taking account of the progress of Airbus Industrie and its partners towards launching the programme. The House will be informed as soon as possible thereafter.
