Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) how many field artillery units would be retained in the United Kingdom in the event of war on the central front;

(2) what assessment he has made of the number of armoured reconnaissance and engineer units that would need to be retained in the United Kingdom in the event of war on the central front;

(3) what assessment he has made of the number of Regular Army personnel that would need to be retained in the United Kingdom in the event of war on the central front.
