When they intend to bring into effect those provisions of the Public Order Act 1986 not currently in operation.

Some provision of the Act were brought into effect on 1st January. Parts I and II, and the rest of Parts II and V, will come into force on 1st April. The necessary commencement order was published last week. The department is today issuing a circular to the police and others, a copy of which is being placed in the Library. My right honourable friend intends to bring the remaining part of the Act, Part IV (exclusion orders), into force before the beginning of the next football season.
