§ Mr. Douglas HoggI have emphasised that both the Government and the police service deeply regret the occurrence of serious accidents involving police vehicles, and have explained that the police face a genuine dilemma when dealing with drivers who refuse to stop. I have also set out the measures taken by the police service to minimise the risk of accidents taking place in such circumstances.
