§ Mr. RentonAll applications for the export of defence-related equipment to Iran or Iraq are rigorously scrutinised against guidelines which my right hon. and learned Friend anounced to the House on 29 October 1985 in his written reply to the right hon. Member for Tweedale, Ettrick and Lauderdale (Mr. Steel). All exports allowed, including any recent sales, are consistent with those guidelines.
