HC Deb 18 February 1987 vol 110 c677W
Mr. Adley

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will arrange to meet in Dorset the commercial fishermen of Dorset to discuss matters currently of concern to them; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gummer

I am aware that the Dorset fishermen are concerned about a number of issues, in particular the recommendations for the future management of the bass stocks made by my scientists last July.

I have advised local fishermen's organisations that they will be consulted when any firm proposals for the management of the fishery are made, and that I would be prepared to see them if they wish to make further representations at that stage.
