HL Deb 17 February 1987 vol 484 c1087WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why a felling licence was granted for Tyrrel's Wood in Norfolk although the area includes a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an area of ancient woodland.

The Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Lord Belstead)

Permission for some felling and restocking in this wood was given by the Forestry Commission in January 1986. This followed consultations and agreement with the Nature Conservancy Council and the local authority.
