§ Mr. Sackvilleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on Her Majesty's Government's policy towards relations with Afghanistan in the light of the Amnesty International report on that country, a copy of which has been sent to him.
§ Mr. EggarWe do not have normal Government-to-Government dealings with the regime in Kabul which is clearly unacceptable to the majority of Afghan people. As I told my hon. Friend the Member for Ynys Môn (Mr. Best) on 13 February, we are deeply concerned at the horrifying evidence of denial of human rights in Afghanistan described in the Amnesty International report on torture.
