HL Deb 16 February 1987 vol 484 c986WA
Lord Orr-Ewing

asked Her Majesty's Government:

To what extent the EC proposals to abolish duty free allowances will affect the income of the British Airports Authority and the ferry services, and what will be the effect on employment in the United Kingdom in general and in distilleries producing whisky, gin and vodka in particular.

Lord Young of Graffham

The European Commission has made no proposals to abolish duty and tax-free allowances for travellers.
