§ Mr. Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to provide for the representation of the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel on the Ambulancemen's Whitley council.
§ Mr. John MacKayBy long-standing convention, the composition of the staff sides of the NHS Whitley councils is a matter for determination by the staff sides themselves. I have no power to compel the staff side of the ambulance Whitley council to allow representation of the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel on the staff side of that council. I can say, however, that the Association of Professional Ambulance Personnel has been granted full local recognition within the Scottish ambulance service.
