§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what evidence exists of the activities of the Mafia organisation within the United Kingdom; and if he will raise at the next meeting of the relevant EEC Minister the question of the alleged financing of that organisation through abuse of the common agricultural policy.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggIt would not be in the public interest to comment on operational police matters relating to the Mafia organisation. Any evidence of criminal activities by members of the Mafia would, of course, be investigated in the normal way.
