However, at 9 January 1987, the latest date for which information is available, a total of 182 people had joined the Greenock and Port Glasgow job clubs since their opening in June 1986. Of this number, 108 people have left the job clubs, of whom 61 (56.5 per cent.) were placed directly into jobs and a further 18 (16.7 per cent.) entered some form of Government employment or training scheme, including the community programme.
