§ Mr. Gareth Wardellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will estimate the loss of firefighters' posts, fire appliances and fire stations that will result from the implementation of the 1987–88 establishment schemes for the London and metropolitan county fire brigades, separately distinguishing each brigade.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggMy right hon. Friend the Home Secretary is at present considering the proposed establishment, support service and management schemes for 1987–88 submitted by the metropolitan fire and civil defence authorities. The London Fire and Civil Defence Authority has been granted an extension of time, and has not yet submitted its proposals.
When made or approved, copies of the schemes will be laid before Parliament.
