§ Mr. ButcherMy Department expects to make an exemption order under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 this year to remove the licensing burden from a wide range of low power radio devices, including hearing aid induction loops.
In the meantime, we have, from 21 January, varied licence conditions so that all new licences are issued free of charge. Anyone who has inadvertently sent money for renewals falling due after that date should apply for a refund.
