§ Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the recent judgment by the European Court of Justice concerning advance payments of traditional own resources to the European Community.
§ Mr. Brooke[pursuant to his reply, 19 December 1986, c. 746]: I regret that my previous reply incorrectly stated that the amount drawn on class III, vote 1, budget of the European Communities, to pay advances of non-VAT own resources in 1986 was £431 million. This amount is in fact the unspent provision on the vote. The amount drawn was £499 million.
