HC Deb 09 February 1987 vol 110 c81W
19. Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received and from whom with regard to the setting up of a paediatric cardiodiagnostic and cardiac surgery unit in Wales.

Mr. Mark Robinson

Representations for the development of the existing paediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery facilities in Wales centred in Cardiff have been received from hon. Members, clinicians and members of the public. Funds have already been made available to South Glamorgan health authority for the appointment of a consultant paediatric cardiologist. Detailed planning of an enlarged cardiac regional service is under way, including as the first phase a paediatric cardiac unit.
