§ Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now increase funding specifically on cervical and breast cancer screening programmes.
§ Mrs. CurrieHealth authorities have been required to give priority to improving their cervical cancer screening programmes within their existing resources. Total funding to HAs is to rise by 6 per cent, in April 1987 over the previous year.
The Government are urgently considering their response to Professor Sir Patrick Forrest's report on breast cancer screening and will make a announcement shortly.
