Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the incidence of hepatitis among prisoners and if it varies by (a) age of prisoner and (b) type of establishment.

The number of cases of hepatitis reported between 1 April 1985 and 31 March 1986 in prison establishments in England and Wales was as follows. The ages of the prisoners concerned are not recorded centrally.
