HL Deb 04 February 1987 vol 484 cc321-2WA
The Earl of Halsbury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When and on what terms the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea sought planning permission to refurbish certain houses in Danvers Street, Chelsea S.W.3, and when and in what terms Her Majesty's Government responded to such a request.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Skelmersdale): The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea made an application for planning permission on 12th November 1985 for the conversion of each of Nos. 37–49 (odd) and 57 Danvers Street to provide two self-contained one-bedroom flats and two bed-sitting room flats with shared bathroom and kitchen for use by the elderly. The construction of rear extensions was also proposed. As the work involved alterations to listed buildings the council was required to submit the planning application to my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment. This was done on 12th December 1985. Planning permission, in the terms applied for, was granted by my right honourable friend on 30th June 1986 subject to the condition that the development was begun before 30th June 1991.

An application for listed building consent in respect of the alterations and extensions to these Grade II listed buildings was submitted to my right honourable friend on 12th October 1985, and consent was granted on 27th May 1986.
