HC Deb 04 February 1987 vol 109 c716W
Dr. Godman

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if the pamphlet on AIDS is being distributed to members of the armed services.

Mr. Freeman

I refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for Holborn and St. Pancras (Mr. Dobson) on 22 January 1987, at columns 731–32. In addition to those detailed measures to educate and inform service personnel of the dangers of AIDS, we are currently examining the supply of copies of the DHSS pamphlet "AIDS: Don't Die of Ignorance" for distribution to all single personnel, those in barracks or aboard ships, or serving overseas who might not otherwise have been covered by the recent postal drop. All personnel will, in any event, receive the comprehensive Health Education Council booklet "AIDS—What Everybody Needs to Know".
