§ Mr. TrippierAt the end of January 1986 the latest date for which such an analysis is available a total of 265,000 16 and 17-year-olds had entered YTS which is 15.3 per cent. of those young people in the population. The comparable figure entering YOP and YTS in spring 1983 was 122,523 which is 6.7 per cent. of those 16 and 17-yearolds in the population.
