§ 23. Mr. Tom Clarkeasked the Paymaster General if he will make a statement on management training in British industry.
§ Mr. TrippierEffective management training is an essential element in ensuring the competitiveness of British industry. Employers have the primary responsibility for training and developing their own managers. However, the Manpower Services Commission has a key role to play in helping to achieve improvements—particularly in small businesses. Two major studies on the future of management training will be published during 1987, and we will consider whether, in the light of their recommendations, we should take further action.
