§ Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will list the current design programme of work of the design office of the Director General of Design Services, indicating any change since 24 July 1984 arising either from completion of the work or the postponement of the scheme on economy grounds.
§ Mr. ChopeThe current programme of work for the design office of the Director General of Design Services comprises some 60 projects with a capital value of over £700 million. The table below gives a breakdown of the projects and also shows that since 24 July 1984, 39 projects have been completed and 16 projects have been postponed due to lack of funds. During the same period a further seven projects were deferred for similar reasons but have now been re-introduced into the current programme.
