§ Mr. Fisherasked the Minister for the Arts who are the signatories to the Royal Opera House trust deed.
§ Mr. LuceThe signatories were the chairman and secretary-general of the Arts Council, and the director and secretary of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Limited.
§ Mr. Fisherasked the Minister for the Arts whether any alterations have been made to the trust deed on the land acquired in Covent garden by Her Majesty's Government for the Royal Opera House since 1974.
§ Mr. LuceI would refer the hon. Member to my reply to a question by the hon. Member for Moray (Mr. Pollock) on 18 December 1986 at columns 627–629. A memorandum of agreement between the Arts Council and the Royal Opera house Covent Garden Limited dated 5 December 1985 varied their respective entitlements under the original trust deed so that the Royal Opera House should have the first claim on the revenues and proceeds of sale of the part of the site which was developed for commercial purposes.
§ Mr. Fisherasked the Minister for the Arts whether he has any plans to seek alterations to the trust deed on the land acquired in Covent garden by Her Majesty's Government for the Royal Opera House in 1974.
