HL Deb 02 February 1987 vol 484 c124WA
Lord Moyne

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When the London residuary body intend to hand over to English Heritage the endowment fund for the Iveagh Bequest at Kenwood, what is the present value of the fund, and how much interest is due since English Heritage assumed the responsibility for Kenwood.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment (Lord Skelmersdale)

The endowment fund for the Iveagh Bequest does not rest with the London residuary body. Since 1929 the endowment has lain with the Public Trustee who has acted on behalf of the trustees of the bequest. The trustees were first a private trust, then the LCC, later the GLC and now English Heritage. Discussions are taking place between English Heritage and the Public Trustee on the future management of the fund, which I understand is worth about .160,000.
