HC Deb 18 December 1987 vol 124 cc829-30W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment when Stratford Colour Company was last inspected by health and safety inspectors; what advice the inspectors gave; to what degree their recommendations were complied with; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nicholls

The Stratford Colour Company Ltd. at Maryland Road, London, E15, was last visited by an inspector of the Health and Safety Executive on 8 May 1987. The purpose of the visit was to check whether the company had complied with three improvement notices issued by an inspector on 16 February 1987. The terms of these notices required the company to improve (a) monitoring of concentrations of lead in air, (b) records of assessment of exposure to lead, and (c) records of maintenance of measures to control lead, in order to meet the requirements of the Control of Lead at Work Regulations 1980.

The inspector found that all notices had been complied with.
