HC Deb 18 December 1987 vol 124 c798W
Mr Hume

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what consideration he is giving to making extra staff or overtime available to social security offices where pressure of work is adding delays to the processing of cases.

Mr. Needham

The position on workloads generally, including those in the social security offices, is monitored on a continuous basis and resources are deployed accordingly. Consideration is being given as to what extra resources may be needed to deal with the most recent increase in single payment claims in the social security offices.
