HC Deb 18 December 1987 vol 124 c880W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) if he will place in the Library the details of the monitoring results of sheep for radioactivity in north, south and west Yorkshire since 1 October, in a similar form to that used in the publication "Radionuclide Levels in Food, Animals and Agricultural Products";

(2) if he will place in the Library the results of the monitoring of sheep for radioactivity in Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear since 1 October, in a similar format to that used for the 1987 publication "Radionuclide Levels in Food, Animals and Agricultural Products."

Mr. Donald Thompson

[holding answer 17 December 1987]: The results of monitoring of live sheep For radiocaesium levels in Yorkshire, Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear since October 1987 are being placed in the Library of the House. They are in the format of previous replies that I have given on live monitoring data. It is not appropriate to give this data in exactly similar form to that used in the publication "Radionuclide Levels in Food, Animals and Agricultural Products" since that publication did not include any data on live monitoring. I believe that this different format of grouping the individual results in flocks gives the reader a better picture of the results from the monitoring of live sheep.
