HC Deb 18 December 1987 vol 124 cc906-7W
Mr. Cummings

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what information he has as to the average waiting period for patients awaiting the removal of cataracts.

In 1985, the latest year for which information is available centrally, the estimated median interval between the time a patient was placed on the waiting list and admission to a National Health Service hospital in England for operation on an eye lens was 16 weeks.
