§ Mr. ScottOn 14 May 1987, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 433,071 persons registered as unemployed and not receiving unemployment benefit or supplementary benefit but receiving national insurance contribution credits. The reasons for unemployment benefit not being paid are shown in the table.
