Mr. Gordon Brown

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much he has paid to the Scottish Development Agency in 1987–88; and how much he expects to pay in 1988–89. 1989–90 and 1990–91.

The Government's contribution to the Scottish Development Agency for 1987–88 is estimated at £94.9 million. Information about the industry programme for 1988–89, 1989–90 and 1990–91 will be published in the public expenditure White Paper. Further details will be given in the "Scottish Commentary" and in the annual Supply Estimates.

Mr. McFall

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if, pursuant to his answer of 14 December, he will give the total amounts paid to projects in the Dumbarton constituency by the Scottish Development Agency in each year from 1979 to 1983 in (i) cash terms and (ii) real terms based on 1986–87 prices, showing the percentage changes in payments between years.
