Whether given their intention to increase real expenditure on family practitioner services by stated percentages in 1988–91 (as set out in Cmnd. 249, Promoting Better Health), increased expenditure on any one part of those services (for example, general medical services) will be restricted if expenditure on another part (for example, medicines) rises faster than intended for all family practitioner services.
