To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the gross average weekly earnings, exclusive of overtime, for(a) registered general nurses, (b) firemen, (c) postmen, (d) waiters and waitresses, (e) shop assistants, (f) ambulancemen, (g) agricultural workers and (h) construction workers.

The following information is available from the results of the new earnings survey:

Average gross weekly earnings (including overtime) of full-time employees on adult rates

These results are subject to sampling errors.

The survey cannot provide reliable estimates of the corresponding figures for women, nor for the specific occupations listed.

The new earnings survey reports, available in the Library of the House, provide information for Great Britain as a whole for some of the occupations listed.
