To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he expects to raise any money from the sale of any British Telecom shares in 1988–89.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will estimate the value of his remaining shareholding in British Telecom.

[holding answer 14 December 1987]: At market close on 14 December the value of the Government's residual holding of ordinary and preference shares in British Telecom was some £6.65 billion.
