§ Mrs. Margaret EwingTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will express the number of deaths in England and in Wales of those aged 65 years and over which occurred in the months October to March as a percentage of those which occurred in the previous six months, for each year since 1974–75; and if he will publish what information he has on seasonal variations in the death rate among those aged 65 years and over in(a) EEC member states, (b) Norway, (c) Sweden, (d) Iceland and (e) Finland.
§ Mrs. Currie[holding answer 3 December 1987]: The information for England and Wales is given in table 1. Figures on the same basis for the remaining countries can be provided only at disproportionate cost. However, table 2 shows data readily available for persons of all ages.
