§ Mr. LeeThere are no figures for job gains and job losses. Between June 1983 and June 1987 (the latest date for which figures are available) the employed labour force in Great Britain increased by 1,321,000. The figure has been adjusted for the effects of seasonal variations. The employed labour force is the sum of employees in employment, the self-employed and members of Her Majesty's forces.
