§ Mr. NewtonThere was a 21.4 per cent. increase in the use of agency nurses and a 30.4 per cent. increase in the use of agency midwives in England between September 1979 and September 1986. Between September 1985 and September 1986 the figures were 39 per cent. and 15.4 per cent., respectively.
