§ Mr. John MarshallTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, further to the statement by the hon. and learned Member for Putney (Mr. Mellor), the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, of 10 December,Official Report, column 605, if he will give further details about the numbers of missiles to be removed from Molesworth and Greenham Common.
§ Mr. MellorAs I said in my statement of 10 December, there are 96 operational missiles at Greenham Common and 16 operational missiles at Molesworth. In order to maintain these numbers operational at all times, it is 361W normal military practice to keep a small number of items of spare equipment available. This spare equipment varies over time, but currently includes five spare missile bodies at Greenham Common and two spare missile bodies at Molesworth. Both the operational missiles and the spare missile bodies will he removed.
