To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to be able to make a decision on the section 56 application for a rail link with terminal 2 of Manchester airport.

I will make a decision on this application as soon as the necessary evaluations have been completed. Greater Manchester passenger transport executive and the other parties to the application have that work in hand.
