HC Deb 14 December 1987 vol 124 c362W
Mr. Mudd

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment on what grounds he has decided to call in the planning application for Maen valley park, Falmouth, Cornwall; and at whose request this was done.

Mr. Waldegrave

The grounds for calling in the planning application at Maen valley park, Falmouth, Cornwall, which lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty, were set out in my Department's letter of 7 December to Kerrier district council. The proposals appear to have implications for national policies relating to the conservation of the natural beauty of such areas.

The application was brought to the Department's attention by the Council for the Protection of Rural England and by a local resident.
