§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Government's policy in relation to the long-stay hospitals continues to be based on the SHAPE report which gave the highest priority to long-stay services. The share of revenue expenditure allocated to these services has increased between 1981–82 and 1985–86 from 35.25 per cent. to 38.61 per cent., and it is expected that this shift will continue.
