To ask the Minister for the Civil Service what professional qualifications can be gained by those studying at the Civil Service College.

Mr. Luce

Civil servants studying at the Civil Service college may gain the following professional qualifications: the certificate and diploma in public sector internal audit and accounting awarded by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA); the professional qualification of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) which offers the designated letters MIAA; the National Computer Centre certificate in systems analysis and design; the Institute of Personnel Management's full professional qualification arid certificate in personnel practice, and the certificate of the Institute of Training and Development.

The college also monitors the content, quality and results of training undertaken by civil servants in other educational establishments which leads to the parts I and II examinations of the British Computer Society.
