Mr. Rooker

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if, pursuant to his reply of 26 November,Official Report, column 316, he will provide estimates of poll tax losers and gainers by household types on a gross, before rebate, basis.

[holding answer 10 December 1987]: At the request of the hon. Member for Copeland (Dr. Cunningham), we are giving priority to rolling forward the community charge computer model to take account of 1986–87 family expenditure survey data. The new information requested by the hon. Member will require a considerable amount of effort to produce. We will provide it after the task of updating the model has been completed.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if, pursuant to his reply of 19 November,Official Report, columns 671–672. he will set out the assumptions used on poll tax rebates to arrive at the net figure.
