HC Deb 11 December 1987 vol 124 cc284-5W
Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) if when he next meets the chairman of British Rail he will raise with him the closure of the signal and telecommunication design drawing office, Scottish region; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what assessment he has made of the employment implications for the area affected by the closure of British Rail's signals and telecommunications design drawing office, Scottish region; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

I understand that the British Railways Board has been reviewing its signal and telecommunications engineering activities. This review and any employment implications are management matters for the board.
