HC Deb 11 December 1987 vol 124 c287W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what measurements he has made of the efficiency of the printing service, since the introduction of computer typesetting for producing House of Commons Order Papers by Her Majesty's Stationery Office; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Brooke

Since production of the Order Papers began at the new parliamentary press in October, copies of these papers have been delivered to the Vote Office in the early part of each morning. A printed version was not available on only one occasion before the House sat and then arrangements were made to provide the House with copies in an alternative form.

Her Majesty's Stationery Office together with House officials is continually monitoring the effectiveness of the computer typesetting of the Order Papers.
