HC Deb 11 December 1987 vol 124 c309W
Mr. Macdonald

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the purposes of, and lessons learned from, the three-day training detachment of five Royal Air Force Harrier aircraft at RAF Stornoway in May.

Mr. Freeman

Because of the temporary non-availability of normal mainland stations, these aircraft were detached to RAF Stornoway to enable them to carry out routine training. This was accomplished satisfactorily.
