HC Deb 11 December 1987 vol 124 cc308-9W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the current reorganisation of library services in his Department.

Mr. Freeman

As part of its move towards greater efficiency and more economic use of staff and book stock, the Ministry of Defence's central London libraries will be merged on one site which is presently being prepared at 3–5 Great Scotland Yard. The complex move is scheduled to take place in the autumn of 1988. At the same time the library is currently planning a modernisation of its system to allow for the introduction of more computerisation in this area.
